The Trust now has 12 tutors and two relievers working in our seven schools. This enables the children to learn in groups of 5 or 6 with specialist teachers for each instrument.
With three new string classes - two at Papatoetoe South and one at Pap East - and increased numbers of students going through to Papatoetoe Intermediate (85 this year), the total number of students in the TMT programme is now 435. The Year 4 programme at East and South has started well with musicianship lessons taking place based on the Kodaly principles. All students will start with instruments in Term 2.
