Students from Pap West were delighted when Tironui Music tutor Tim Sutton visited with some of his Auckland Philharmonia friends for a performance and workshop. Tironui Music Trust is delighted to partner with the Auckland Philharmonia and their In Schools programme to bring professional musicians from the orchestra to suppliment the work of the tutors.

The Auckland Phil 'Blues Band' advertise themselves in the programe like this: "So much of the music we hear today is pre-programmed electronic dance music. One day soon the music known today as the blues will exist only in classical records department of your local library. Seize your chance to hear the Blues in the flesh and hear the jazziest cats in the Auckland Philharmonia Orchestra!"

We know that the students at Pap West will be inspired for years to come to keep the kaupapa of blues music alive following this visit.

Ka rawe!
